The gap between work and collector (after Bruegel)

Image Description

This pencil drawing is after the Bruegel drawing "The painter and the buyer" from 1565. One recognizes centrally the painter with brush in the hand. On the left outside the picture is a canvas or a picture support. Behind the painter stands a younger man with glasses, who reaches into his purse. While the buyer or collector looks directly at the picture, the artist looks inward, absorbed in himself. He thinks. He feels between work and collector, he fills the gap of the capitalist system.

All this can only be guessed at in my neo-Pointilist version - and that is how it should be.
